MMH first in Kentucky to
receive advanced patient
records certification
Manchester Memorial Hospital (MMH) has been
certified as stage 7 on the HIMSS Analytics Electronic
Medical Record AdoptionModel (EMRAM). This represents
attainment of the highest level on the EMRAM, which is
used to track electronic medical records (EMR) progress at
hospitals and health systems.
The EMRAMwas developed in 2005 and has eight
stages (0–7) that measure a hospital’s implementation
and utilization of information technology applications.
The final stage, stage 7, represents an advanced patient
record environment. To confirm that a hospital has
reached stage 7, an executive fromHIMSS Analytics and
former or current chief information officer and chief
medical information officer visit the site to ensure an
unbiased evaluation of the stage 7 environments.
The hospital was recognized at the 2014 Annual
HIMSS Conference & Exhibition, February 23 to 27,
2014, in Orlando, Florida. At the close of 2013, only
2 percent of the more than 5,400 U.S. hospitals in the
HIMSS Analytics Database had achieved the HIMSS
Analytics EMRAM stage 7. MMH is one of only 160 hos-
pitals in the U.S. to achieve stage 7, and it holds the
honor of being the only hospital in Kentucky to do so.
“Manchester Memorial Hospital is the first hospital
in the state of Kentucky to be awarded stage 7 status
and the fifth hospital in the Adventist Health System to
receive the stage 7 award,” said Erika Skula, CEO. “I am
very proud of all our staff who are dedicated to the
highest level of patient safety and care.”

An evening of bidding and fun

encouraged to
dress in “denim
if you want” and
“diamonds if you
got ’em.” At-
tendees brought
canned goods or
